We Did It! £13,785 Raised at The Harley Jae Trust Skydive

Last Saturday, The Harley Jae Trust took fundraising to new heights-literally! 17 incredible volunteers stepped far outside their comfort zones and leapt from 14,000ft in an unforgettable tandem skydiving challenge. Together, they raised an amazing £13,785 to support children with life limiting conditions.

It was a day filled with nerves, excitement, and once-in-a-lifetime moments. From the very beginning, the safety briefings, meeting instructors, and practicing the safe exiting positions. The energy was high and the team spirit even higher.

One of out brave skydivers shared:

“I actually enjoyed the build-up! The safety briefing, meeting my instructor, even the plane ride, it was all so well organised and interactive, it helped keep my nerves at bay.”

But as the plane climbed toward 14,000ft, the reality of what was coming started to sink in.

“Once we reached altitude, my heart was racing! I tried to focus on my breathing and stay calm, and then-it was go time.”

Then came the jump.

“That freefall… nothing compares. I remember seeing the letters on the plane above me as we dropped, and for a moment, it was just pure adrenaline and freedom. Everything else melted away. It was absolutely exhilarating!”

With the parachute open, skydivers were treated to stunning, peaceful views of the countryside below.

“Floating down was surreal. After the rush of freefall, there was this incredible stillness. The views were breathtaking and i got to guide the parachute - it’s a moment I’ll never forget.”

Every participant had their own unique experience, but they all shared one thing in common: the courage to do something extraordinary for a cause they believe in.
